![]() The early versions of this rifle are not often found, especially in good condition. ![]() The story, true, or not, provided by the seller was that the original owner bought them for his two children.Not sure if true, but it sounds pausable.Personally, I believe that it was tastfully done by whoever did the work and I wanted an example with a tubular magazine. They were both Japanese manufacture and were reasonably priced for a standard issue in similar condition. He had two of them for sale, one tubular and one with a detachable magazine. I bought it from a dealer that, who in turn, acquired it from an estate. It certainly looks factory in all respects, including the very sharp and clear roll markings and all sharp edges that show no signs of buffing. I suspect that it was part of a special order. The middle rifle is not a commemorative to my knowledge.
